One of my favorite things about being a bridal boutique owner is that we get to see new wedding trends well in advance before it becomes available to the public. I absolutely love attending the bridal and fashion trade shows in New York City and Chicago to see (and feel) the dresses in person. What I’ve learned is to not make my purchasing decisions based on photos alone; sometimes the photos just doesn’t do the dresses any justice!
For the upcoming season, here are the 2023 wedding dress trends that we’re seeing from our designers:
Old Hollywood glam with plain fabrics and structured silhouettes. You can see some of these trends already taking place in real weddings (such as Brooklyn and Nicola Beckham’s recent wedding).
Detachable overskirts, sleeves, capes and trains – it’s all about versatility and having multiple looks using one dress. We’re seeing designers getting creative by adding hidden buttons on the dress so brides can easily put on and take off all of the detachable parts. Who knew an overskirt could instantly change the overall look of a dress?!
Corset bodice – there seems to be a lot of lace corsets built into the dresses this season and we think it may have been inspired by the TV show Bridgerton. The best part about these corsets is that they cinch your waist in while lifting up the bust areas! The lace corsets also add a subtle romantic element to the overall vibe.
We’re excited to showcase the latest wedding dress trends and bring them to Michigan this fall! Our designers include: Eva Lendel, Wona Concept, Luce+Sposa and Madi Lane.
